The Intelis Route Request Processor interfaces with the Teltronics switch
via its Host Interface Link (HIL), using RS-232 or TCP/IP. Its purpose is
to redirect incoming calls to programmable destinations based on
user-configurable internal routing tables, time-of-day, and
characteristics of the incoming call.
The system is fully redundant with no single point of failure. Under
normal operations, the iRRP accesses a central database for routing
instructions. The iRRP periodically updates a local database coopy. In the
event of the server or network failure, the system automatically uses the
local database copy for uninterrupted service. When the central server
again becomes available, the iRRP reconnects to the primary database.
