Wilkes telephone announces one year anniversary

of intelis enhanced operator services (EOS) platform

NORCROSS and WASHINGTON, Georgia, April 14, 2003 – Wilkes Telephone and Electric Company (Wilkes Telephone), an independent telephone company serving 874 square miles of east Georgia announces the one-year anniversary of the in services date of the Intelis EOS platform.

The Intelis EOS platform is utilized by Wilkes Telephone Company to provide a variety of important community services including directory assistance as well as local and long distance operator services to Wilkes customers and it’s serving communities.

The Intelis EOS platform, which can be integrated with, or front-ended by, a variety of CLASS4/5 switching elements, was designed as a feature rich and cost effective replacement to legacy platforms from traditional CLASS5 vendors and manufacturers. The platform is supported and can be deployed in either a traditional TDM or next generation IP based network environment, eliminating the risk of obsolescence as networks migrate to IP based technologies.
